Council Commitees

    Recruitment Committee

    The Recruitment Committee consists of the Director of Recruitment, the Panhellenic Executive Council Members and the Recruitment Counselors.  This Committee will be responsible for reviewing and developing recruitment rules, submitting them for discussion and approval to the Panhellenic Council prior to the end of the spring term, and distributing approved copies to the delegates of member organizations.  They develop the recruitment plan for both the fall and spring semesters including informal and formal recruitment.  Following each recruitment period, the chair of this committee presents a full report, including recommendations to the Panhellenic Council.

     

    Goals of the Recruitment Committee include:

     

         - The creation of assessment tools

         - Consistant communication with parents to provide information regarding

            sorority life.

         - Outreach programs at local high schools to promote sorority life

         - Work in conjunction with the admissions office, orientation office, and

            residence halls to introduce students to sorority life.

     

    Judiciary Committee

    The Judiciary Committee consists of the CPC Vice President, three representatives from each chapter, and the Panhellenic Adivisor as an ex-officio member.  The Judiciary Comittee is responsible for dealing with violations of the CPC constitution, bylaws, standing rules, and recruitment regulations.

     

    Goals of the Judiciary Committee include:

     

         - The development of a Code of Ethics

         - The education of  new members on hazing policies and procedures

     

    Education Committee

    The Education Committee consists of the Director of Education along with individual chapter education/development chairs.  The Education Committee provides all educational and developmental programming in regards to education as well as the promotion of superios scholastic achievement through programs and award recognition.

     

    Goals of the Education Committee include:

     

         - The education of parents about sorority life

         - The sponsering of leadership events for both greek and non-greek students

         - Recognition of chapters with outstanding new member programs

     

    Risk Management Committee

    The Risk Management Committee consists of the CPC Vice President and one delegate from each chapter.  These individuals will also be members of the Greek Risk Management Committee.  The Risk Management Committee will be responsible for planning and supervising all social activities of members of the College Panhellenic Council.

     

    Goals of the Risk Management Committee include:

     

         - Consistantly informing chapters of legal issues, officer responsibilities, and risk

            management issues. 

         - Chapter Presidents and Risk Management Chairs possess the necessary campus

            contacts, including fire and police.

         - Hosting educational events to promote safety

         - Hosting programs that partner with MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) and

            Virginia Liquor Control Department

         - Partnership with other Risk Management Council Officers to create an "all council

            risk management policy"

     

    Public Relations Committee

    The Public Relations Committee consists of the Director of Public Relations and two delegates from the College Panhellenic Council.  The Public Relations Committee is responsible for all forms of publicity for the Virginia Commonwealth University College Panhellenic Council.  The committee will work closely with the Executive Board to circulate favorable publicity about the council and its member fraternities.  It will also produce a monthly Panhellenic newsletter that includes a calendar containing philanthropic dates and chapter recognition.

     

    Goals of the Public Relations Committee include:

     

         - The sponsering of events with other campus organizations

         - An effort is made to obtain print media coverage for council, chapter, and individual

            accomplishments

         - A survey of fraternity and sorority members, advisors, professors, campus leaders,

            parents, and other individuals to identify views on fraternity and sorority life

         - Maintaining the council website current at all times.

     

    Service Committee

    The Service Committee consists of the Director of Service as well as the chapter Community Service  and Philanthropy chairs.  The committee is responsible for the planning of the all-Panhellenic community service or philanthropy event.

     

    Goals of the Service Committee include:

     

         - The co-sponsering of philanthropy events with other campus organizations

         - Hosting of roundtables/workshops for chapter philanthropy chairs

         - Panhellenic Council honors chapters and individual members with outstanding

            contributions to philanthropy/service

         - Educational programs to emphasize the value, need, and benefit of community

            service and need to work in the community
